Description

AP Professionals is partnering with a local manufacturer in search of an Accounting Specialist! The role involves overseeing the cash flow cycle for accounts receivable, with key duties including cash application, invoicing, as well as collections. This is a temporary, full-time position with the possibility of transitioning to permanent status based on the candidate's performance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, encompassing general journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, collections, and bank statement reconciliation.
  • Ensure prompt and precise submission of sales invoices for the Ingredients divisions.
  • Aid in the collections process for the Ingredients division by maintaining regular communication with customers, monitoring short-paid and overdue invoices, and escalating unresolved issues to relevant sales team members and management.
  • Gather references for pending customer credit applications.
  • Complete credit applications with new vendors.
  • Handle the setup of new customers and vendors in NetSuite.
  • Support the entry of expense bills for the Ingredients divisions.
  • Generate credit and debit memos in response to quality and delivery issues.
  • Produce various internal reports as delegated.
  • Perform general office duties, including filing, mail sorting, etc.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Familiarity with web-based ERP or bookkeeping software, with a preference for NetSuite proficiency.
  • Comprehensive understanding of bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Absolute requirement for precision and attention to detail, alongside a proven track record of reliability, discretion, and diligent work ethics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make cost-efficient decisions.
  • Adaptability and efficiency in managing tasks within a fast-paced, evolving environment with tight deadlines.
