AP Professionals has a great new opportunity for a CPA seeking a controller opportunity.  Our client is growing and this position will be key in building a formalized accounting department and bringing the function in-house from an outsourced team previously. Responsibilities

  • Owns all accounting operations for the business- to include cash management, A/P, A/R, general accounting, sales tax filings, and internal controls
  • Lead the financial close process; ensuring accurate, timely, and relevant financial statement reporting, account reconciliations, and the underlying support for the numbers presented in the financial statements.
  • Manages the external annual financial statement audit
  • Provides key financial information for daily / ongoing business decisions
  • Understand and manage the growth targets provided in the forecast / AOP
  • Maintains a continuous improvement mindset and implements new accounting and financial systems processes when it is necessary.
  • Owns accounting research and provides guidance to address new technical accounting requirements
  • Mentors and develops a high performing accounting team

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

Experience

  • This position requires a minimum of 10 years combined public accounting  and prior accounting management/supervisory experience.  CPA License- active or able to become registered upon hire.
  • Strong with financial systems and Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions
  • Previous experience in a high growth industry
