AP Professionals has partnered with a highly visible, dynamic not-for-profit in Rochester that is seeking a versatile accounting professional to join its growing team as Director of Finance. The Director of Finance will report to the CEO and will liaise with the Board Treasurer, Finance Committee, and the HR Committee. Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to the organization's financial operations, human resource functions, and interface with the IT service provider
  • Monitor payroll, purchases, purchase order and vendors
  • Manage relations with bankers, investors and other external financial entities
  • Prepare financial statements and related reports, including month-end closing documents, account reconciliations
  • Perform forecasting and analysis of cash flow
  • Monitor internal controls

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred; CPA a plus

Experience

  • Seven + years of broad financial management experience, ideally beginning in accounting, including experience in financial analysis and modeling and providing guidance to senior leadership
  • Experience as part of a senior leadership
  • Prior experience in nonprofit accounting and/or housing finance
  • Proven ability to manage a small team of professionals responsible for finance and administration including HR and I Experience working in a small team environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and job
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, advanced analytical and organizational skills a must
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must
