AP Professionals has partnered with a local food manufacturer and distributor in the Rochester area that is looking for a Human Resources Generalist. This role supports the Human Resources department with handling mid-level human resources functions and programs including the areas of the hourly plant employment, recruitment, benefits administration, leave administration and workers’ compensation claims, training, etc.  It also provides information and assistance to employees regarding human resources activities, relations, processes, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities

  • FMLA, WC, DBL, and personal leave administration
  • Conduct new hire orientations (including benefits)
  • Deliver appropriate training to new managers
  • Conduct exit interviews for hourly, plant positions
  • Respond to unemployment inquiries
  • Responsible for interviewing and offer process for hourly positions
  • Participant in job fairs
  • Remain current on changes/updates to applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Handle employee relations for plant hourly employees

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree and/or 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • PHR certification preferred

Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with high experience in word and excel
  • Experience in Leave Management
  • ADP experience is very preferred

  • Ability to flex hours to service multiple populations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Local, State, and Federal Employment Law knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management, and task prioritization skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information
