Description

The human resources manager is responsible for all of the human resources activities, including payroll, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, and employment practices compliance matters for a local manufacturing company that employs approximately 140 people.  This position participates on the company's management team in order to execute the strategic initiatives of the company.  The ideal candidate is someone who has a commitment to their human resources career and is able to pro-actively lead the human resources function with regard to current laws, practices, and trends fitting the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Using ADP Workforce Now, prepares the weekly payroll
  • Leads all company recruitment efforts
  • Handles the benefit administration and participates in the process of selecting benefits and providers
  • Leads the Open Enrollment process
  • Handles employee relations matters and provides coaching to managers to help them be effective and addressing employee issues
  • Maintains the employee handbook and provides updates as new employment laws become effective.
  • Ensures the company's compliance with regard to employment laws
  • Develops and implements new human resources policies and procedures
  • Continually considers ways to improve and innovate the human resources functions

Education

A bachelor's degree is preferred.  A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience is required.  A PHR / SPHR certification is desirable.

Experience

  • Prior human resources generalist experience
  • Payroll processing experience is required
