Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide engineering support to multiple production lines. A Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required for this role.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight and management of technical drawings for components and assemblies, ensuring they are up-to-date and well-maintained.
  • Skilled in the setup and alignment of lab equipment and test fixtures, ensuring precise and accurate measurements during testing processes.
  • Take charge of a "Calibration Team," leading efforts to regularly calibrate all measuring equipment within the building, including power meters and wavelength meters.
  • Diligently maintain and repair lab and building facilities, including air compressors, laser etchers, 3D printers, and more, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical inquiries and issues with component vendors, fostering effective communication and resolving any challenges that may arise.
  • Proficient in identifying technical problems during the manufacturing process and actively contributing to the development of solutions to address these issues.
  • Conduct thorough quality control testing on incoming components to verify their performance meets specified requirements.
  • Offer support to production technicians in assembly tasks, particularly in prototyping, to facilitate efficient production processes.
  • Strictly adhere to laser and chemical safety rules, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Play a key role in achieving the quality objectives of the company by meticulously following all ISO 9001 documented procedures.
  • Exhibit a commitment to continuous learning, staying updated on current and future procedures, and actively participating in training programs.
  • Willingly take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the team and organization.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and make modifications to mechanical drawings and various technical documents.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAE software, with preference given to candidates experienced in SolidWorks.
  • Previous exposure to optics/photonics is advantageous.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Prior knowledge of quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated capability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player. The ideal candidate should be self-driven, motivated, and a proactive self-starter.
  • Holds an unrestricted right to work in the United States.
