Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a medical device company looking to add an Equipment Maintenance Engineer to their team. Open due a retirement! The Equipment Maintenance Engineer will assist with improving on cost and quality as well as capital improvements. Master electricians with HVAC experience are highly encouraged to apply. Ability to work on older equipment needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance activities and calibrations of equipment.
  • Coordinate with plant maintenance, systems, utilities, and outside contractors.
  • Proactively identify and take measures to address concerns with process issues impacting products, product quality, regulatory documentation, and test systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities with associated validation/ documentation requirements.
  • Consult and aid Product Engineer on the impact of calibration deviations and unplanned issues on product quality.
  • Utilize reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volumes and quality goals are met.
  • Diagnose complex malfunctions in machinery and equipment and complete repairs in minimal down-time. Re-prioritize work based on new information and work with limited information. Handle drawings, and documentation to solve problems and improve documentation of systems.
  • Support safe manufacturing practices and participate in PHA and HAZOP reviews.
  • Lead design and procurement of new components and processes, mechanical installation, electrical installation, and controls of capital improvements.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Master Electrician and/or Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years of related experience
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in Programmable logic controllers (PLC), process control logic, pneumatics, steam systems, mechanical drives and components, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
  • Excel VBA, LabView, and other programming experience a plus.
  • Experience with Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO) a plus
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations, solvent electrical safety NFPA 70E requirements, and Environmental Protection Agency Regulations.

  • Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel mastery.
  • Proven ability to work within a team and be accountable to meet department metrics and goals.
  • Willingness to work within a framework of regulatory compliance. Willingness to develop procedure writing competency.
