Description

AP Professionals of Rochester has partnered with a local Manufacturing company on the Eastside of Rochester in search of a Production Manager. The Production Manager will have direct accountability for supervising all manufacturing operations. Furthermore, this role encompasses facilities management, involving enhancements in processes, maintenance, equipment relocation, and close collaboration with the management team on diverse projects. This role offers an average of 20% of annual earnings in bonuses to your base pay! Semi-annual pay increases opportunities, along with company-subsidized health insurance, and free dental, disability, and life insurance.

 

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the operations spanning multiple shifts, with responsibility for overseeing plant and facilities functions.
  • Manages a small team, including Team Leaders and a Maintenance Technician, while also indirectly overseeing a production team comprised of 30-40 employees.
  • Takes charge of all production activities, including the organization and development of production schedules, the initiation or approval of measures to enhance process efficiency and equipment performance, and ensuring the quality of the final product.
  • Defines clear roles and expectations for each position and ensures that every employee meets or surpasses these benchmarks. Conducts assessments of team members to identify development needs, coordinates relevant training programs, and maintains regular communication with direct reports to mentor and foster their growth.
  • Empowers and motivates employees to take initiative and cultivates an environment that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and conducts investigations into any accidents.
  • Establishes and supports a preventative maintenance program for the plant.
  • Establishes and communicates performance metrics to meet established standards.

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field, accompanied by 5 years of experience in manufacturing production management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • A background in a machine shop setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Quality Management Systems (QMS) is required, and experience with AS9100 is a valuable asset.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.
  • Prior exposure to International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) policies is an added advantage.
