Description

AP Professionals has partnered with an Eastside based company in search of a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer ensures that quality program policies, plans, standards and requirements are met. This is a highly technical and analytical role, requiring ample experience in a Quality role. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a must. American Society for Quality certificate is desired.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality standards for products and processes
  • Oversee quality performance and ensure quality objectives are met
  • Create processes for inspection, testing, an evaluation of products and production equipment
  • Assess the cost of products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications by performing statistical analyses
  • Create statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error and determining levels of confidence
  • Ensure processing of nonconforming materials and assist in corrective action investigations
  • Present results to Materials Review Board and Corrective Action Board
  • Perform supplier audits to verify compliance
  • Collaborate with product development to review engineering method and process changes as it relates to quality
  • Analyzes data and trends by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests
  • Coordinate technical evaluations to ensure quality metrics are achieved
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Work cross functionally to engage in continuous improvement efforts
  • Enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques to areas of production
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and other educational seminars/events

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • American Society for Quality certificated desired

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality role

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles, and concepts
  • Aerospace industry knowledge
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement efforts
  • Ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations or resolve problems
