Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a food processor and distributor looking for a Quality Manager.  The Quality Manager will be responsible for food safety, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance within the plant facility. Previous experience with GFSI/SQF food safety program required!

Responsibilities

  • Train and motivate the Quality / Food Safety team to insure continuous and consistent program implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Be responsible for food safety, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance within the plant facility.
  • Oversee GFSI-based Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. Plan, coordinate, and direct all quality, sanitation, regulatory and food safety programs within the establishment to insure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.
  • Act as customer interface with plant to review product performance, respond to questions, requests and complaints, and work with operations to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Provide and manage employee training to insure compliance with company programs and regulatory requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences or related field and/or equivalent experience in QA/Food with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience with GFSI/SQF food safety program required.
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment.
  • Previous experience with BRC/GFSI preferred.
  • Must have technical understanding of food safety including manufacturing, quality, HACCP, and GMP operations.
  • Must have strong ability to apply basic statistical concepts to problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Must possess sufficient analytical skills to use laboratory equipment.
  • Experience in report writing.
