The recruitment specialist is a 6 month long temporary position with a company located in Rochester, NY.  The position will work with department managers to evaluate candidates, assess candidate resumes and credentials, screen, shortlist, schedule interviews, and build a network of potential employees.  Hourly Pay will range between $26/hour - $31/hour depending on level of experience.


  • Discussing and establishing qualification requirements with managers.
  • Conducting phone calls or meetings to create a shortlist of qualified candidates.
  • Interviewing candidates on the shortlist and maintaining a database on employees for future vacancies.
  • Mediating between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Discuss employment offer terms and conditions with prospective hires.
  • Complete pre-employment and post-employment processes inclusive of onboarding.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.


  • 3-5 years of experience as a recruiting specialist with a track record of employee placement.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • The ability to work within a team and to coordinate team activities.
  • Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates.
  • Clear verbal skills to communicate well with candidates and managers.
  • Strong negotiation skills when discussing terms and conditions of employment.
  • In-depth knowledge of hiring strategies, labor laws, and employment equity.
  • Desired experience with the ADP Applicant Tracking System
  • LinkedIn Recruiter Experience and application
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Teams
