AP Professionals has partnered with an environmental supplier that is seeking a Regional Account Manager for their Eastern US territory. The Regional Account Manager will manage existing accounts, generate revenue growth, identify new prospective accounts, and work face-to-face with clients. 3+ years of prior experience in an environmental consulting or engineering industry required! Candidates must be comfortable with 40% overnight travel.

This is a full-time direct hire opportunity and candidates must be located in or around the Rochester, NY area.

  • Manage existing accounts to ensure year-on-year revenue growth.
  • Close opportunities from new and prospective accounts by identifying, engaging, and developing them.
  • Deliver results that meet or exceed the assigned territory’s revenue goals
  • Conduct face-to-face customer meetings per month
  • Follow up on leads generated through incoming calls, advertising campaigns, web hits and other promotional efforts
  • Participate in trade shows and industry association events within the assigned territory
  • Build and manage a professional network of industry contacts; establish close working relationships with key and influential players at engineering and consulting firms in the Northeast territory.
  • Organize and conduct company presentations.
  • Use and maintain the company’s systems to document sales related activities
  • Handle high volumes of outbound prospecting calls
  • Manage a dynamic sales pipeline


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Associate’s degree from a technical school with a combination of related training and experience


  • 3+ years’ experience working in environmental consulting/engineering industry or experience selling environmental monitoring equipment or related services required.
  • Past experience as a Geologist, Hydrogeologist, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Consultant or a Project Manager for an environmental engineering firm is highly desirable!
  • Outside sales experience with an ability to clearly articulate a value proposition is a plus
  • Previous experience using a high-profile CRM
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and vehicle insurance required for travel.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% overnight travel
