AP Professionals has partnered with a local transportation-based company in Rochester that is looking for a Staff or Sr. Accountant. There are two total openings: one on the Corporate Accounting Team and one on a Regional Accounting Team. The position on the Corporate Team will focus on maintaining accurate payroll and benefit accruals and lease accounting reconciliations while providing a high quality of customer service support in the areas of accounting, compliance, reporting and analysis to our operations. The position on the Regional Team will focus on the accurate recording of operational revenue and expenses, maintaining accruals, preparing profit and loss analyses after each closed period as well as completing reconciliations for various general ledger accounts. The company is progressing through a finance transformation and the roles will also have opportunities to develop new skills and have exposure to new technologies. Responsibilities

  • Assist in all phases of closing and reporting of responsible duties including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and analysis of variances in income statement and balance sheet accounts
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments and regional personnel and provide accounting support
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Prepare for and participates in internal and external audits in functional area
  • Actively participate in initiatives to continuously improve the Accounting Center’s ability to be an effective business partner through process improvement and automation
  • Represent the function in special projects and assignments
  • Perform other accounting duties, as required

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s degree and/or CPA a plus

Experience

  • 1-3 years related experience (Staff Accountant); 4+ years of related experience (Senior Accountant)
  • Knowledge of Robotics Process Automation a plus
