AP Professionals has partnered with an electronic distributor looking for a Territory Sales Representative for their growing and successful team.  The Territory Sales Representative will be responsible for the sales of all product lines and will have the opportunity to cover the Rochester – Albany territory. Maximize growth and support the business through sales processes and efforts. Qualified candidates will be based in Rochester, NY and will be open to travel primarily in the Rochester, NY area but also to the Albany, NY area. 3+ years’ experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of engagement with existing and new customers.
  • Build relationships and understand customer business in order to provide the appropriate products or solutions.
  • Define sales and growth strategy towards key customers.
  • Bring in and coordinate other internal resources as appropriate to support the sale
  • Develop and carry out sales promotion activities. Engineer, select, propose, and demonstrate systems suitable to meet the customers' application
  • Prepare detailed proposals and presentation material as required to get the order. This may include the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools as needed to assist in getting the order
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with key manufacture and manufactures representatives
  • Provide supervisor with regular reports concerning sales activities
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales staff on customer quotes, product availability or problem resolution as needed
  • Follow up on all quotes requested and advise status on system.
  • Assist quality assurance in corrective action on rejected material concerns.
  • Execute pricing policies in conjunction with Commodity Management
  • Gather information on competitors & their strengths/weaknesses, channel that information to Product, Pricing, and Business Management
  • Support launch of new products into focus channels and actively support planning and forecasting processes
  • Monitor quality issues, delivery performance and contracts. Maintain the best GP by knowing the competitive market.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process and quality system
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • ISO 9001 trained

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of direct field sales experience
  • Electronics industry experience a plus
  • 3+ years of similar B2B sales experience
  • 2+ years of experience with multi-level sales and distribution models

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point.)
  • Strong influencing skills - ability to work in a matrix organization & team environment.
  • Customer focused.
