Favorite thing about recruiting?
The best part about this job is making a long term placement connection between a client and a candidate. In an industry where the value of the service can be discounted; when we can act as a consultant and be part of the qualification and evaluation process, this job is very fulfilling.

We frequently make placements that help turn around organizations, setting a foundation for the organizations successful growth.

On the Horizon:
With two college age boys (how?), my wife and I are excited to enjoy regular trips to visit our kids and have a little fun of our own; one in the heart of Boston, the second down in warm South Carolina.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Wake up with me at 4:30am – It’s the best time of the day! Most days you can find me at SmoothFit Training, a gym that is built around Community, Culture, and Camaraderie.

On the weekends during the summer months, my husband and I are busy traveling to Maryland and New Jersey to watch our daughters, Olivia (16) and Julia (14) play club lacrosse tournaments among the best teams in the country. It is a pleasure to see my daughters play a sport they love and grow as student athletes.

In just a few short years, you will find my husband and I traveling to cheer on the University of Virginia Women’s Lacrosse program, where our daughter Olivia recently announced her verbal commitment to play Division 1 lacrosse and to further her academic studies.

Favorite thing about recruiting?
“I GET TO” help people! When I recruit an underemployed candidate, work with them through the interview process, and see joy in their eyes when they reach their goal, it will forever be my reason why. Meeting people, listening to their goals and matching these goals to a new opportunity is what I find most rewarding as a recruiter.

Each and every day is different, over the past 22+ years, I have listened to a variety of stories and with each story we have laughed and learned. I joke and say “I could write a book.”

I’m from a small town outside of Binghamton called Windsor, NY. I grew up on a one lane dirt road on a small lake that was mostly a vacation spot. We were one of the only families that lived there all year long.

Quarantine hobby you picked up:
It isn’t necessarily just from quarantine, but I’m a happy, but kind of terrible, gardener. When we bought our house there was a large garden and I’ve slowly killed portions of it but overall I love it. It’s quiet and peaceful to be out there working in the soil and watching things grow. I do my best thinking in the garden and enjoy it more than I expected.

What do you like to do in your spare time:
I’m not an athlete myself, but I am married to one. Since I met him I have learned to really love baseball. We are Yankees fans but also enjoy watching our two sons play in the MCBR league here in Rochester.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to volunteer at Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester. I adore animals, so any chance I get to be around them and take care of them is a privilege. I love to see families come in to adopt a pet and see the joy on their face as well as the animal who is finally getting a new home. I personally have three dogs and three cats that fill my house with lots of love and fur!

What do you love about your job?
My favorite thing about recruiting is that every day is different. I am fortunate to get to meet so many people who I can form relationships with that last beyond placing them in a job. It is extremely rewarding to assist individuals with finding a new opportunity and helping our terrific clients find the talent they are looking for. For me, it is a win win situation as I love to interact with both the candidates and the clients.

Bucket List…
Last Summer, I was able to take a trip to Ireland with my three (now adult) children. It was a first for all of us – a trip of a lifetime full of beautiful scenery, winding and narrow roads, friendly people, and Guinness! It was my one opportunity to have a big vacation before they all fly the coop. To date, it’s my greatest memory with my children (I’m the short one in the photo).

In your spare time…
Most people know I like to stay active. It has been a lifelong pleasure. I actually taught “aerobics classes” for about 10 years and still miss the Madonna headset! I still have people from time to time tell me they remember taking my classes. Since those days, I have been a recreational runner – one marathon and two half-marathons – plus a bunch of 10Ks, 5Ks, Corporate Challenges.

I’m a CrossFitter and a regular gym-goer who even got up the courage to participate in yoga (minus the flexibility…it’s a practice and I’m still trying). I can’t imagine ever being not active. When my body is sore, I rest and try to use my brain via learning the piano – when no one else is around the house – for now.

Tough question! There are so many things I enjoy about recruiting. One of the best is being able to learn about someone’s passion and strengths and then aligning them with a perfect career match.·

Quarantine hobby you picked up?
I have a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old, so ‘Mom life’ has been keeping me very busy during quarantine!

Favorite quote?
My favorite quote is actually a quote from Mark Pautler’s friend that I have always loved: “A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, dream big, laugh a lot, and realize how fortunate you are.”

I enjoy pretty much anything active and/or outside. I love taking a long walk on my hometown’s nature trail or biking through my family’s country roads. During quarantine, I am keeping myself entertained with lots of exercise, solitaire games, board games and exploring Netflix shows to binge watch. Most recently, I’ve jumped on the Ozark bandwagon and am hooked!

Fun Fact(s):
When I was 15, I met Ashley Parker Angel while getting in line for the Superman at Six Flags Darien Lake. I rushed out of line to the ride’s souvenir store to get a picture and his autograph. The following year, I met Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith while also in line for the Superman. Jada had performed earlier that day so they were taking the night to enjoy the park. Will came across the ride’s cars to greet his fans and I was lucky enough to get a high five!

    Member, 2019 – present

What do you love about your job?
Recruiting allows me to get to know so many outstanding individuals and learn their “story,” so I can hopefully place them in a new role that provides them with a challenge, growth opportunities, and a positive work atmosphere.

On the flip side, I also appreciate the opportunity to interact with hiring managers, decision makers, and executives from different companies. Not only can I get to know them on a personal level, they can also see the quality of my work directly if I place someone that goes on to become a key employee for them. There is no denying what a great feeling that is!

Dream vacation spot:
Anywhere tropical, but I would love to get to Aruba or St. Lucia! I am very much someone who takes vacation to relax as opposed to sight see all day long. So any place I can lay out in the sun in with a book and drink in hand is great by me.

Favorite restaurants in Rochester: Roam Café, Dorado, and Jeremiahs!

I’m from Massena, NY a small town way upstate – I jokingly refer to it as “pretty much Canada.” It’s right along the St. Lawrence River, and there are endless outdoor activities. My family grew up camping by the River and mountain climbing in the Adirondacks.

Fun Fact most people don’t’ know about you:
Growing up in Massena, as you might imagine, winter sports were popular. I picked up figure skating as a toddler, and still remember the pair of double blade skates I learned on in our backyard rink. I competed competitively through high school, and had the opportunity to travel all around the United States, which in itself was an incredible experience.

My favorite though, was standing on the 1980 rink for the opening ceremonies of the Empire State Games in Lake Placid exactly 30 years to the day that the “Miracle on Ice” hockey game was taking place during the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Favorite vacation spot?
Our family has a cottage on Cayuga Lake that we look forward to visiting every year. My other favorites include Cape Cod and the Adirondacks. They are all so peaceful and hold some of my favorite memories.

Growing up I have always been surrounded by pets. There was not one time in my life that I wasn’t able to have a dog or cat by my side. They definitely hold a special place in your heart. I currently have two shelties Tanner and Sebastian along with two cats Dolly and Billy. We have our hands full, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
